ABOUT STEPHEN BERENSON
STEPHEN BERENSON is an actor.
A long-time member of Tony Award-winning Trinity Rep’s Resident Acting Company, roles include Willy Loman, Grendel, Fagin, Feste, Shylock, and Scrooge. He has performed in New York and nationally including Dallas Theater Center, Bread Loaf’s Acting Ensemble, The Kennedy Center, The White House, and the top of a float in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
STEPHEN BERENSON is a teacher.
Co-Director of the former Trinity Rep Conservatory, he was Director of Brown University/Trinity Rep’s MFA Programs in Acting and Directing for 16 years before being named Founding Director in 2017. He is a faculty member at Middlebury College’s Bread Loaf School of English, with a tutorial appointment at Lincoln College Oxford.
Recognition includes a 2010 Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship at Ten Chimneys, The New England Theatre Conference Teacher of the Year Award, IRNE nominations for Best Actor and Best Actor in a Musical, Broadway World Regional Awards for 2018 Best Actor and 2019 Best Supporting Actor, and Providence Mayor David Cicillene’s Citation for Excellence.
